EARLY season omens for Ferguslie's cricketers do not suggest a quick return to the top flight.
The Meikleriggs men travelled to Stenhousemuir, were invited to bat first and were all out for just 114 with nearly 15 of their allocated overs unused.
Soon enough, they were on their way home, after Stenhousemuir raced across the finishing line in the 33rd over.
That leaves Ferguslie having played four matches, losing all of them by significant margins and remaining pointless at the foot of the first division table.
The club knew it would face a testing season with a comparatively young and inexperienced first team.
But they will certainly hope for better outcomes in the next few weeks to avoid the spectre of further relegation.
Meanwhile, Paisley rivals Kelburne at last got their Western Union campaign off the ground in the fifth week of the season in their game against Partick at Hamilton Crescent.
Amazingly, this was Kelburne's first league match, the first against GHK having been conceded, while the other three had been rained off.
