JOHNSTONE junior tennis player Amber Duncan has earned the plaudits of US Open finalist Greg Rusedski - as has Cameron Kerr from Erskine.
They've both won themselves a place on the Lawn Tennis Association's (LTA) AEGON FutureStars programme, after a successful year on court.
And Rusedski, who was also British number one, said: "Amber and Cameron are two of the most talented youngste
rs in the country as she has been listed as an AEGON FutureStar and I look forward to seeing her progress.
"As AEGON FutureStars Amber and Cameron have a great opportunity to improve her game and grow within the sport.
"Getting the right support when you are young is vital for any keen tennis player, but so too is enjoying the game and I'm hopeful that both will have a good combination of fun and support."
Rusedski is also talent ambassador for the scheme which has also been backed by local racqueteer, British number one Elena Baltacha.
She crashed out of the Australian Open last week with defeat to Dinara Safina, but added Amber is in good hands.
"Getting the right sort of support is critical and the AEGON FutureStars Programme will help our best young players to fulfil their potential. As British number one, I benefit from AEGON's sponsorship through the LTA and I feel so positive about the future of British tennis because their support runs all the way through the sport.
"I'm now at a career high ranking and I love to think that I could inspire the young players working hard out there to be as good as they can be."
Amber (8) and Cameron (9) train at Strathgryffe Lawn Tennis Club and and they're just two of 426 youngsters selected for the programme which recognises and supports some of the best juniors in the country based on the individual player's talent ID assessment and ranking for all other age groups.
