LOVE-LORN ladies all across the land will sympathise with the character in this one-woman show.
Unmarried and continuously unlucky in love, environmentalist and dry-stone wall expert Eve goes on the quest for Mr Right in comedy play (itals) Sausage and Samosa (itals).

Elaine Pantling (50), the force behind the production, is the opposite of her character, having been happily hitched for 24 years.

Elaine, from Leicester, told Live (logo): "I wasn't in a bad position when I wrote the show.

"The idea for it came about when I was asked at the Leicester Comedy Festival to visit an Asian lunch club.

"It was great – I got chatting to the women and worked in the kitchen with them and we were talking about arranged marriages versus love marriages.

"And at that time, many of my friends were in their mid- to late-30s and searching for love, and I came up with the title (itals) Sausage and Samosa.

"I was a middle-aged white woman – a Sausage - and the Asian ladies were Samosas".

The play focuses on Eve's quest for love by dipping into the Asian
world of arranged marriages.

She eventually resorts to setting up her own website to find a man.
Elaine explained: "The audience is given either a sausage or a samosa card and they are shown five (itals) hot tottie (itals) to vote for Eve to marry. The men are all based on Bollywood characters".

Elaine gained her degree in theatre and performing arts at age 40, and has been a professional comedienne for 10 years.

She has performed this show in Fairham and Derby and is looking forward to visiting Paisley again, after visiting with critically-acclaimed show (itals) Gusset (itals) earlier this year.

He told Live (logo): "We had a great audience and I loved it".
(itals) Sausage and Samosa will be at Paisley Arts Centre tonight at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the box office at 887 1010, starting at £6.
