MUSICIANS from far and wide are flocking to Paisley's Unplugged sessions at the arts centre in New Street.
Making a welcome return in the next few weeks is the line up of Hercules Mandarin.
The six-piece purveys a soft blend of soothing acoustic melodies with some angsty rock tracks thrown in.
And although this band's members have been together for just under two years, May 9 will mark their fifth stint at the popular Paisley venue.
Guitarist and lead vocalist Chris Rogers (26) told Live!: "We're in Glasgow a couple of weeks before the Paisley gig so we usually try to play here beforehand.
"I played solo for a while under the name Hercules Mandarin and the line up has changed a lot. The only two constants have been myself and the drummer Chris Grant (22)".
Hercules Mandarin also showcases the talents of bassist Steven Dowd (22) and guitarist Wullay Wright (23).
And fiddlers Cat Calton (26) and Meggan Reid (28) add a traditional note to the band's repertoire.
Chris Rogers went on: "We play all over the country — Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Edinburgh, and a few more obscure places as well.
"So far we've made two albums. The second, Fast Behind the Times (it is now on iTunes), came out last year and we had a launch party at King Tut's in the summer, which went down really well and sold out".
Later this month Hercules Mandarin will play (April 21, 8pm) at The Mill project at Oran Mor in Glasgow's westend.
Chris enthused: "It's a really good initiative because it's free to get in, and the gigs are recorded and filmed. It's basically a showcase of local up-and-coming bands".
He added: "This summer, we're playing the festival in Montrose. Obviously what we'd really like is to get a slot at T in the Park but it's a bit of a lottery, really".
