THE time is right to put on your blue suede shoes and shimmy down to Eastwood park theatre.
Combining all-time favourite Elvis songs with a host of local talent, All Shook Up is set to be a sure-fire hit.
Performed by the theatre's youth group, Harlequin, the musical production reveals how a young girl's dream comes true when her perfect man rides into her home town.
Karen Fishwick plays female lead Natalie — who has to pretend to be a guy to get to know Chad — the rock'n'roll loving motorcyclist.
The 18-year-old from Clarkston told Live!: "I have played a few lead roles before but this has been my favourite one so far.
"I'm very similar to Natalie's character. I need to dress up and pretend I'm a guy in it… and my friends are always telling me I'm like a boy.
"The role is very challenging but it was one of my dream parts to play".
Male lead Chad is played by Eaglesham's Jamie Stewart — who Karen says is thoroughly well cast.
She said: "It's been great working with Jamie — although he can make you laugh too much sometimes.
"And he's perfect for the part and plays Chad really well".
Karen, a drama student at Motherwell college, also says there is something for everyone in the 1950s Stateside-set production.
She told Live!: "Rehearsals have been so funny and I've not laughed so much in my life. The cast members have really enjoyed taking part in it and I think that will show when we perform.
"There is something for everyone in the show and audiences will be in stitches because it's so funny.
"But there are also moments for you to stop and think about, and appreciate".
Written by Joe DiPietro, All Shook Up is inspired by the songs of the King – with Presley hits including Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel and Blue Suede Shoes.
* The show opens at Eastwood on March 18 for a four-day run.
