CLICK your ruby slippers together because it's time to follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Wizard of Oz, originally told by Frank L Baum, enjoys a five-week stint at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, featuring all the classic songs from the 1939 film, such as Over the Rainbow and Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.

So join Dorothy on her adventure, as she is whisked from her Kansas home and journey's with the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion through the magical land of Oz, all the while trying to avoid the Wicked Witch of the West.

The show comes to you through the talent of Andrew Panton, acting head of musical theatre at RSAMD, and artistic director Guy Hollands.

Guy told Live! : "The Citizens theatre always attracts a really good crowd and the show has received a great success so far. The show is obviously fantastic for youngsters but adults will love it too."

The performance features a live band, and is sure to have children and grown-ups alike tapping their feet to the well-known tunes.

Guy went on: "The live band is really powerful and really blows the audience away. It's much better than a soundtrack as it gives a real sense of being involved in the story, instead of being aware you are watching it in a theatre.

"The cast is fantastic and everyone is really enjoying themselves. I think everyone who comes to see it either remembers the characters from their childhood or is discovering them and learning to love them for the first time."

Bringing families together, The Wizard of Oz is the perfect way to celebrate the festive season.

The show runs until January 3 at the Citizens theatre. Tickets start at £6 for children. Call the box office on 429 0022 to book or for more information.
